歡迎參觀哥大中文學校網頁The Chinese Saturday School at Columbia University (CSS) is a non-profit institution established in 1972 whose primary mission is to offer families of all background a structured and nurturing environment for learning the Chinese culture and language. School-aged children from 5 years old and up are welcomed to attend. Parents as well as other family members of the students have been active participants in various activities organized to foster a sense of community. Curriculum of the classes is focused on practical use of the Mandarin Chinese language in speaking, reading and writing. For the younger students, teachers employ songs, games, and other age appropriate activities to aid instructions. Special topics on Chinese cultures such as the Chinese New Year and Moon Festival are incorporated into the regular curriculum to introduce or support better understanding of the Chinese culture. A team of parents on a volunteer basis performs the management and administration functions of CSS. The team consists of a Director, PTA chair, and a curriculum committee. CSS teachers are highly qualified with experience in working with young children and certified in Bilingual Education and/or Early Childhood Education (or currently in pursuit of such degrees) from Columbia University and other reputable institutions. We apologize that we are no longer accepting applications for 2008-2009
