School-aged children from 5 years old and up are welcomed to attend. Parents as well as other family members of the students have been active participants in various activities organized to foster a sense of community. Curriculum of the classes is focused on practical use of the Mandarin Chinese language in speaking, reading and writing. For the younger students, teachers employ songs, games, and other age appropriate activities to aid instructions. A team of parents on a volunteer basis performs the management and administration functions of CSS. The team consists of a Director, PTA chair, and a curriculum committee.
